Phaneron

I have been walking in the phaneron
You could have been anyone
When we met in the corridor i swore that i had seen you before but no
Its all for show
Time is a dream god’s dremaing so
We will all lean in and wake up
And start to make up the space between everything and what its made of
I am a hungry soul sold out of confused bodily doubts
Search through all of my confusion illusion the feast for the yeast
Someone is standing in front of me
Am i here or is it still the dream
A heart pumping blood and lungs breathign air
Does it mean anything are we even here
Are you here now did we venture too far from the physical plane
Did you misplace your memories forget my name

The Source
02:42
|

You make me forget that i'm a lump of carbon
Spinning in an endless void where death grants no pardon
Still there’s something between my chemicals and yours
It is both bigger and smaller than anything in the known universe
It brings us closer to the source
I cant understand how to trust my perceptions
When they're based on qualitative data and sensation
Still its all that i can point at to quell the existential dread
Life is better when i ignore the possibility i'm already dead
And take a moment to get out of my head
We are all a part of the eternal mystery
Experiencing the bitter sweet joy and misery
When i sleep i try to keep a little reminder of my home
Little earth for what its worth and when i go maybe then ill know
The answer to the question of the soul.

Gyri

What i cannot understand
Is how a touch of your hand
Can take me back to the moment when
Time before you met a breathless end
Love and loss are both entwined
In strands of bitter space and time
Running down the clock inside my mind
But secret love is hard to find
And with every aching breath we are fighting off our inevitable death
Take my frontal lobes and lay
them down with the ancient stones at the bottom of the creek bed
and when they're worn and smooth
put them back inside of my head

200 Lbs of usable timber
02:30
|
|||
I am a stacked deck you’re bound to fail
A bad check that’s lost in the mail
But i got the address of the sender
If i have to ill secure a reliable lender
And buy two fists full of marine grade screws
A few basic tools, sheet of canvas strong and true
To the sea i will never surrender
I got 200 Lbs of usable timber.
By my life with the wind in my sails
I will reach your shore i will not fail
And at our embrace you will remember
The love that we had before the long cold winter
Tides and storms rock us back and forth
And everyone must find their own true north
Though my boat be sinking in splinters
Ill swim if i have to there’s no thing i wont endure
Just to get to you, just to get to you.
if its the last thing i do, baby i will get to you.

Through
03:47
|

So many people walking around today
Carrying around all their guilt and shame
What's the use in that
Gotta start where you’re at
Remember what you been through, gotta go through
When there's no way out
And there's no way around
Ain't no gettin' over, no goin underground
Only 1 thing left to do, babe gotta take whats in front of you,
and you gotta go through
13 dollar hammer is what you are to me
I shout out Hosanna every time i see
Gotta give credit where credit is due
Gotta thank the Lord for makin you
Cuz you get me through
